The subscribers of the mobile operators will be able to pay taxes and road fines from their accounts. This project is being discussed by the government and the company Vympelkom. The similar offers for MTS and MegaFon are also prepared. The mobile operators have a chance to get a new multimillion payments market.

The first meeting on this topic was held the last week with the General Director of Vympelkom Elena Shmatova. The same meetings with the management of MTS and MegaFon will be held in the nearest future. The pilot project will be launched till the end of this year in four regions: Tatatstan, Bashkiria, Astrakhan and the Vladimir regions.

Press secretary of Vympelkom Anna Aybasheva confirmed the fact of this meeting. “Here we speak about using mobile phones to pay road fines, taxes and other fees to the budget. We believe this is an interesting offer and the possible format of our participation is being considered now”, she said. “We have a huge experience in m-commerce. More than 1.5 mln of our subscribers use it at least once in a quarter”. According to the company’s data the monthly increase of users of m-commerce services is 20%.
